One light is all that one needs ! yes, in Photography one light can do much more than more lights put together if it is set right. Makeup and Hair- Roberta by Dilshad Ahmed and Yana bypoonam Rawat While shooting Lingerie, it's important to illuminate it in such a manner that besides taking care of the look and expressions of the model, lingerie itself is highlighted to reveal the detail. Lingerie usually has intricate craftsmanship in self. Every detail is delicate. Lighted up in the right manner and from the right direction a single light source can bring up that intimate mood in the photograph. I intentionally positioned the beauty dish in such a manner so as to cast a shadow on the pink backdrop. While pink is close to feminism, kept it a bit deep to reveal the white lingerie.

This shot is opposite of the one above. Masculinity needed to be revealed as compared to femininity in Lingerie photography. One light again played the key role in revealing shape and mass to reveal the muscles and fitness of the model

In nature there is one light source and the photographs look more natural when they are lit by a single light revealing texture and detail. While light on the model who is swirling is soft and directional, it does not illuminate the painting in the background completely balanced by the shadow of the model on the white textured wall. 

When the single light source is kind of coming from the opposite direction of the camera it not only highlights the bone structure but detail and texture in the garment as well. This fashion photograph was shot as the natural light was getting dim towards the late evening. The artificial light source was kept high and away from the camera position striking the model from the opposite direction. The single petal in the foreground is going well with the outfit colours. 

while a single light source illuminates the model quite well with the right detail in the outfit, it does not make the surroundings too bright, letting the outfit standout besides the fact that everything is in the same tonality. Light modifiers play and important rile in defining the light source. Barn doors were positioned for the right effect on the honey comb.

Directional but soft light was good enough to highlight the couple while retaining enough detail on the pillars and walls of the palace.

The single hard light is not only revealing the fine lines on her face but going well with her stern expressions as well. This tight portrait was made on the streets of shimla on one of the sunny days in summers.

Outdoors, single light source is not always hard. These young Nagamese girl was photographed in one of the villages near kohima.
