The spirit around
As a sports or action photographer we often miss out on other things happening around. Its not just the sports persons or the participants who create the mood of the event. Its the crowd, cheer leaders, expressions of people, passive moments of players, the team coordination, coaches and referees, which all contribute to the over all mood and spirit of the game and the event.
Action is key to any sports but this is not just alone that creates the drama. Activities going around also add to the whole feeling. Peoples expressions and body language can tell you as much as any scoreboard or high-speed action photograph.
The same thing happens in weddings as well. In the absence of a second photographer, the activities going around are missed out as the photographer is concentrating only on the action around the bride and the groom.
